With a vision of a prosperous and resilient future for the City of Miami Beach, the Mayor and City Commission adopted the Miami Beach Strategic Plan: Through the Lens of Resilience on July 17, 2019 – an innovative effort to tackle the challenge of living with sea level rise through an integrated plan to create quality-of-life opportunities for the local community with both traditional government and progressive resilience-building actions. The 2023 Strategic Plan Update, located below, provides a snapshot of where we are today in preparation for a new strategic plan in 2024.
Resilience-building actions are located throughout, with the majority of climate resilience items within the Environment and Infrastructure Vision to be a Resilient Coastal City with a thriving environment and modern infrastructure.
