Debris Free Cities Webinar

April 29, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

This webinar will showcase how 4 city governments are promoting plastic-free lifestyles through policy initiatives, local business recognition, and community education. Tune in to hear from:
Yanira Pineda, City of Miami Beach Senior Sustainability Coordinator
Marvin Wilmoth, City of North Bay Village Vice Mayor
Stephanie Wilk, City of Ft. Lauderdale Sustainability Specialist
Elaine Franklin, City of Hollywood Environmental Sustainability Coordinator
Cat Uden, the Southeast Florida Campaign Manager for Oceana, will then present about how to draft plastic resolutions and ordinances that do not violate the state-wide preemption on certain plastic bans.
We will close the event with a Debris Free Oceans-moderated Q&A session and a fun Kahoot quiz – be sure to stay until the end!
Whether you are a concerned citizen interested in resiliency, a business owner interested in going green, or a city official interested in launching a sustainability department, you won’t want to miss this webinar! Feel free to reach out to maddie@debrisfreeoceans.org with any questions.
