Grant Conditions

  • Properties must be located in the City of Miami Beach.
  • Applicant must be the property owner or obtain a commitment from the ownership structure.
  • Eligible properties must be either residential (single-family or multi-family) or commercial.
  • Only project costs related to flood risk mitigation activities are reimbursable under this program.
  • The grant is “match” based: the City will reimburse 50% of total program costs up to $20,000.*
    • Program costs include the property flood risk assessment and resilient flood improvements
    • $2,500 funded by the City for flood risk assessment
    • Property owners reimbursed half of the project costs up to $17,500
    • Qualifying low-to-moderate income households are not required to provide a grant match up to $17,500
  • In order to be eligible for funding, properties must be in good standing with the City and may not have any pending City fees or fines, or be involved in any litigation with the City of Miami Beach. 
  • Seasonal residents are eligible to apply but must indicate their “seasonal” residential status on the PPA application under the “Basic Information” section. If the Applicant Address differs from the Property Address, it must be clearly indicated.
